How To Bring New Customers To Your Business

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

If you want your business to stay alive, the most important thing for you to realize is that 90 percent of your business is likely to come from ten percent of your customers, and because of this, you will want to do everything you can to show your current customers that you care about them and are loyal to them, as this will keep them around for the long run - but if keeping your current customers is the most important thing to keeping your business alive, the next most important thing is that you know how to bring new customers your way as well.

One of the best ways to bring new customers your way is to offer deals that will get these customers in the store; when you offer a great deal - running some sort of promotion for a few days or even a week - you will find a lot of new people milling about in your store, and even though not all of them will become long-term customers, many of them will!

The way you go about advertising will also be a big part of attracting new customers your way; the biggest thing of all when you advertise will be that you get the name of your business in the heads of potential customers, as planting your name in their head will make it that much more likely in the long run that they will turn to you when they need whatever it is that you are selling or providing!

And in the same vein as "keeping your current customers happy," you should realize that word of mouth is the greatest advertisement of all; when you keep your current crop of customers happy, they are far more likely to say good things about your company to everyone they know - and these people to whom they talk about your company will naturally be that much more likely to visit you down the road.

There is no perfect formula to attracting new customers to your business, but when you follow these tips, you will be on the right path - which will place you on the right path for continued success!

Tips For Writing Short Stories

A lot of people find that they want to write a short story, even though they are not a "writer" or an "aspiring novelist." For many people, short story writing is relaxing - it is fun, therapeutic, and enjoyable. Writing short stories can be a great hobby, and can enable you to use your free time in a productive manner. At the same time, however, it is not much fun to write short stories if no one will read them!

Kurt Vonnegut was one of the masters of modern American literature. For over fifty years - from the late 1940s to the mid-2000s - he wrote novels, essays, and short stories that were widely-read and highly acclaimed. Somewhere along the way, Vonnegut compiled his list of "rules" for writing short stories. The next few paragraphs summarize these ideas.

Vonnegut began his rules focused on what you should do for the reader - firstly, that you should make sure the reader won't leave your story feeling like they wasted their time, and secondly that you should give the reader at least one character they can root for. Vonnegut continued with thoughts on characters after this, saying that every character should want something, even if it is as simple as a glass of milk, and that you should use every single sentence to either reveal something about the characters or to advance action. Vonnegut next implored writers to do the following: Make horrible things happen to your characters, even if they are kind and sweet. By doing this, you allow the reader to see what the characters are made of. He advises writers to start as close to the end as they possibly can, and to write to just please one person. To understand this last one, realize this: If you write to please one person, and that one person loves your story, then all others who have similar tastes to your "one person" will love it also.

Vonnegut closes his rules by telling writers to give as much information as you can, as quickly as you can. "To heck with suspense," was his thought on this final rule. He claimed that the reader should always have a complete understanding of what is going on.

In his notes on this list, Vonnegut also allowed that you can break every one of these rules and still write wonderful short stories. But you could sure do a lot worse than Kurt Vonnegut if you are going to find a writer to take advice from for writing short stories.

Making Your Website Easy To Use

Regardless of whether you are running a website as a means to promote your business, or as a way in which you can try to make a bit of extra money, one important thing will be that you are making sure to pay attention to the principles of search engine optimization; at the same time, however, it is easy to become so wrapped up in your search engine optimization efforts that you forget about all the other things about running a website that are important - including making your website easy to use!

The first thing you should focus on, in making your website easy to use, is making it easy for your readers to share your site with others; when you include links throughout your site that make it easy for people to share content through such areas as Twitter, Digg, Google Plus, and facebook, you will increase the backlinks you create, and will increase the traffic that comes your way as well!

As you attempt to make your website easy to use, the next thing that will be important for you to focus on is making it easy for people to navigate your site; on your site, you should include a search bar that enables people to search for specific content on your site, and categorize your posts in such a way that it will be easy for visitors to seek out something specific.

And perhaps the most important thing of all you can do in making your website "easy" for users is for you to make it easy for your visitors to get lost in your site; when you include plenty of links within the content of each post you write, readers will click on these links, and continue sinking deeper and deeper into your site! And of course, the deeper a reader goes into your site (and the more time they spend on your site), the more likely they are to return to your site again and again - and to bring others with them as well!

Tips For Moving Up The Ranks In Your Business

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

If you have started your own business, you are already the “top dog” in the company, and you will simply need to turn your focus to “beating your competition” in order to have the most success you can; if, on the other hand, you are working within a company, you will need to not only focus on helping the company beat the competition, but will also need to know all the things you can do to outperform others at your level in order to gain promotions for yourself!

In order to move up the ranks in a business, one of the best things you can do is to always show up at least a few minutes early, and to always leave at least a few minutes late; while in one sense this is simply a symbolic move that displays your commitment to the company, it will also put your in a position where you are always doing at least a little bit more work each day than what is “expected” of you.

As you take a few extra minutes each day to show up early and leave late, it will also be beneficial for you to make an effort to learn more about the business, the business landscape, and the competition than anyone else at your level is learning; take some extra time at home each day – even if it is no more than 15 minutes – to accumulate some extra knowledge.

And one thing to realize is that an expansion of job responsibilities will often also entail an expansion of the number of people you are working with in some direct or indirect way, and because of this, it will be of great benefit to you if you are continually working to improve your people skills, as this will put your in a position to continue succeeding each time you are promoted.

Getting promoted does not always happen quickly and automatically, but when you keep these things in mind, you will be able to increase the likelihood of being promoted, and will ensure that you are ready to succeed when that promotion comes.

When a seemingly unconquerable problem or project stands in your way at work, the frustration can end up seeping into every other area of your life; after all, most people spend more time at work then they spend doing anything else, and when things are not going well at work this can make life as a whole rather difficult. In spite of the fact that each work problem is its own unique beast, there are still a few things that anyone can keep in mind in order to help them overcome obstacles at work; next time you face an obstacle yourself, take this approach, and watch as the problem starts to disappear.

When you are trying to overcome an obstacle at work, it can become easy to try the same things over and over again and wonder why they are not working, but a much better approach to trying to overcome an obstacle at work is to try to approach the problem from a different angle. In addition to trying to approach a problem from a different angle on your own, it sometimes will help if you enlist the help of others in devising an approach to this problem; try to cultivate a group of people at your job who you feel comfortable going to when you're faced with an obstacle, and these people can help brainstorm with you until you come up with a solution.

And even though it might seem like "trying until you finally knock the problem out of the way," is the best approach, sometimes the best thing of all for you to do is simply take a bit of a break from the problem; when you do this, you will often find that you will come back with a solution suddenly in mind!

Next time you are faced with a serious obstacle at work, keep these tips in mind – and watch as you are able to conquer the problem much more quickly than you would otherwise be able to!

Building Your Own Website

There are plenty of reasons to set up a website - perhaps you have a business you are needing to promote, or perhaps you are wanting to try to make some money online with websites, or maybe you just want to have a platform from which you can share your thoughts and opinions on things - but even though there are plenty of people who want to start a website of their own (and even though there are plenty of different reasons why they might want to do this), a lot of people end up never starting that website they want to start because they think they will have to pay someone else to do this. If you want to set up a website, however, you should not have any problem doing so on your own - and making it look great - as long as you know a few specific things that will be important for helping you to get started.

Deciding what sort of feel you want your website to have is the first thing you will want to do - figuring out whether you want it to appear more like a blog, or whether you would prefer for it to look more like a "website"; if you decide that you want your website to have more of a blog feel, you should look at Blogger (which is the blogging platform run by Google), and if you want to have more of a website feel on the site you are running, you should look into purchasing a domain and using a Wordpress template.

After you have set up your site with Blogger or Wordpress, you will be able to choose from loads of templates that these platforms provide, until you find a template that gives you exactly the look you are going for - and if you find something that is close to the look you are going for, but does not quite hit everything just right, you can learn to adjust minor things on the template yourself with just a little bit of research!

And once you have your website up and running, with the look you want, start studying up on some basic HTML - and with this final bit of information, you will be able to input content on your site and make it look exactly the way you want it to look!

Tips For Dealing With Excessive Noise While Working

If you work at a job with co-workers who tend to make a great deal of unnecessary noise (or if you work from home and have to deal with excess noise from your neighbors or the people with whom you live), it can be difficult to get your work done in a successful manner. While optimal efficiency in your work will usually be difficult to achieve when all this noise is rattling around in your ears, there are a few steps you can take to minimize the negative effect this noise has on you, and to maximize your efforts toward work.

The first method you should try is to simply listen to some music while you try to work; while some people find that listening to music does nothing but distract them, others find - especially when they play music that they already know (which keeps their mind from focusing on the music closely) and that they enjoy (which also keeps the mind less focused on the music - that music can be a great way to drown out unwanted noise.

You can also consider getting a package of ear plugs that are effective and highly rated, as these can block out the noise that has been hindering your work, and can allow you to get back to work in relative silence.

The most amazing product of all for drowning out unwanted noise is a white noise machine; the Sound Conditioner Sound Screen SleepMate Electro Mechanical White Noise Machine is the best product on the market when it comes to white noise machines, and with a $50 price tag, you will not be able to find anything else that does a better job for such great value!

While the best solution of all would be for this noise to simply disappear, this is not always a viable solution, and so it can be hugely beneficial to find another way to solve the problem - and you should have no problem doing exactly that with any of the above suggestions!

Looking At Three Places To Target Keywords In SEO

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

A lot of people who hope to grow their website (and, as a result, their business) through search engine optimization understand that keywords are an important part of boosting their search engine ranking, but they spend very little subsequent time finding out exactly what this means; because of this, they end up packing lots of keywords into their text wherever they can, and they fail to realize that search engine optimization - especially when it comes to keywords - is a bit more nuanced than this approach takes into account.

First of all, you need to realize that placing your keyword in the content of your site will be an important part of achieving success through search engine optimization, but this does not mean that you want to simply throw keywords in any chance you get; pick out a primary keyword you want to focus on throughout your site, and try to use it two or three times in each new piece of content you create - then let the rest of the secondary keywords take care of themselves from there.

It will also be important that you are aware of the fact that your content is not the only place where you should aim to optimize your use of keywords; on your site, it will also be beneficial for you to target your keyword in your title tag, your meta description tags, your image tags, and even (if at all possible) your URL.

And finally, remember that backlinks (that is, the links from another site that point to your site) are a big part of search engine optimization, and these backlinks will be far more valuable to you if the anchor text includes your primary keyword; wherever you have control over the backlinks for your site (either through a link exchange, or through social media, or through an off-site article you have written that includes a link to your site), make sure the anchor text keeps your primary keyword in mind.

The more time you spend optimizing your website through SEO, the more success your website will experience - and the more you understand about search engine optimization before you get started, the more quickly this success will come your way!

The Importance of Customer Loyalty to Your Business

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

Customer loyalty is the back bone of any business and this is something that any business owner can attest to. Customer loyalty leads into many other benefits that are essential for a business to thrive. Many people then ask how they can increase this loyalty. Customer loyalty isn't built out of one practice, but rather a multitude of them that can help increase it. A book that includes details on many of the facets of customer loyalty and how to employ them has been released by the Harvard Business Review.

Customers that come back to buy again and also bring their friends with them to buy is the main idea behind the customer loyalty plan. The idea itself is rather easy to understand but executing it is another story. To start on the path towards this kind of success make sure that your employees enjoy their jobs. If your employees are happy their happiness will spread throughout your business and to your customers. This will result in all of your customers feeling that your business is a great place to buy from.

Another step to take is to turn negative situations that arise into positive ones. Your happy employees will need to be trained in this skill, but should be willing to learn. Deepening a relationship is something that can be done easily when a customer brings a problem to you. Make sure that your customer understands that you are making an exception for them, exceed their expectation for a solution, and don't ever say no right off of the bat. Not only will this type of interaction will result in loyal customers, but also customers who refer.

Certain steps can be taken to increase customer loyalty, which has been learned by the Harvard Business Review through extensive research they've done.

The book goes into much more detail on the subject, much further than the ideas briefly listed above. Many of their suggestions are based on customer service, but customer loyalty is rooted in other arenas as well. These topics are all covered in order to provide you with a comprehensive plan.

Coming Up With Effective Advertisements

It will be hard for you to run your business successfully if you do not manage to run successful advertisements – but one of the toughest things about running effective advertisements is that, while you have probably spent a lot of time learning the ins and outs of business, you have probably not spent a whole lot of time being trained in the intricacies of advertising. While it is certainly prudent to do as much study as you can before committing any significant amount of time and money to an advertising campaign, here are a few things for you to pay attention to, as far as advertising goes, to help you get started.

First and foremost, it will be important for you to figure out your target audience, as each different target audience will require a different approach to the ads you are placing; while some companies have only one target audience, there are other companies who have a number of different target markets, and these companies will have to decide which audience they want to target with each specific ad.

Once you know who your target audience is (or which audience you are wanting to target with a specific ad), you will be able to construct an ad that will appeal to this group; this is an extremely important step in the advertising process, as not every type of ad will appeal to every type of person, and you will want your ad to appeal to the audience you are going after.

And lastly, where you place your ad will be extremely important; regardless of whether you will be advertising on television, on radio, or online, you need to realize that there are certain places where you are more likely to run into your target audience, and these are the places where you need to put your ad.

When this is the approach you take in the planning and creation of your ad campaign, you will be well on your way to increasing the effectiveness of your advertisements – which, of course, means you will be well on your way to increasing the overall effectiveness of your business!

Should You Have A Website For Your Business?

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

If you have a business, one of the things that will be important to you is that you are able to maximize your profits while also minimizing the amount of money you have to spend; in looking at these two goals (which, at times, can seem mutually exclusive), some people attempt to save money by skipping over the whole “creating a website” process, instead relying on word-of-mouth from current customers – and perhaps other advertising methods – to bring new client their way, which begs the question, do you need a website for your business?

The first thing about having a website for your business that will benefit you is the fact that it is a good way for you to provide your current customers information; in the same way that a lot of politicians and athletes now use platforms such as Twitter in order to disseminate their own messages without these messages being influenced by the media, a website for your business will allow you to directly relay information to your customers without a go-between.

A website will also be beneficial to you because it will give you a way to draw new customers, without paying a dime in advertising costs; with a website representing your business, you will provide one more way through which people can stumble upon you and increase your profits. And of course, once you start understanding all the things that go into search engine optimization, you will be able to effectively launch your website to the top of search engine rankings pages, which means that people will happen upon your site simply through the items they search in Google, Yahoo, and other search engines, which will of course go a long way in increasing the overall effectiveness of your business.

When you are running a business, there are definitely going to be areas where you can cut costs, but if you want to be effective in today's business landscape, it will not only be beneficial for you to have a website, but may even be vital; take the time to build a website for your business, and watch all the positives that come as a result.

Successful Copywriting: The Face Of Your Business

Anyone who works for a large business probably realizes that there are people within the business who are in charge of all copywriting duties. But if you have a small business - or if you have ever considered starting a small business - you may think you can do your copywriting on your own. While this might be true for you, of course, many people who do their own copywriting would be better off hiring out!

Copywriting covers all writing that is intended to promote a business or product, and would include everything from print ads to billboards to websites. And even though many people think the only thing they really need in order to write successful copy is an understanding of the message they wish to convey, this is often incorrect. In fact, this can be absolutely wrong, as many who copywrite for a living have a full understanding of the exact words and phrasing they need to use in order to grab the attention of readers.

Anyone who is thinking about hiring a copywriter full time should make sure the copywriter has experience, and that they can prove their abilities. The best way to have them prove their abilities is for them to write some sample copy, and for you to give it to test readers to they can give you their reactions.

If your copywriting needs are less extensive, you may want to hire a freelance copywriter, which is less of a commitment. If you hire a freelance copywriter, you can gauge their success as they work - continuing to work with them it their work is successful, and finding someone new if it is not.

And if you decide to continue doing your own copywriting, make sure you study the craft of writing successful copy! After all, it might seem that you are in fine shape as long as you can write something that is competent and error-free. But you will be in much better shape if you can write something that grabs the attention of anyone who reads it!

Make sure you are giving the copywriting for your company the attention it deserves, as the copywriting for your company is the first face of your business most people will ever see.

Keep Home Court Through Relationship Building

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

Establishing your business presence in your immediate surrounding area is very important. The best area for your business to pick up the easy sales should be in the community surrounding although it can be easier said than done. In order to ensure that none of your competitors move into your home territory, there are a few methods you can use. The best technique to use and accomplish this goal is to build solid relationships in your neighborhood through personal interactions. All your business dealings are centered around these relationships.

Your current customers will statistically be more loyal to you the more often you see them. A great habit to get into is to make personal visits to all of your current customers as often as your schedule allows. This gives your business a personal feel and allows you to establish a personal relationship with your clients. This personal relationship should eliminate any chance that a competitor may have for stealing them from your business.

Potential customers are a whole different animal. Many people feel like if these customers already told you 'no' that they aren't worth your time. However all it takes is one bad experience for them to look for a new provider. In this case you want to make sure you are the first person they contact about a switch. If you are constantly visiting them and touching base, they will come to you if there is ever an issue with their current provider.

If you want to maximize the business in your immediate surroundings do so through relationship building. People often mistake the word 'no' for 'never' instead of what it really means; 'not now'. You need to use this method if you ever hope to be distanced from others in your field. By being in constant contact with those in your community you will develop a reputation as a stand up business person to deal with.

How To Make Money Through Affiliate Marketing

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

One of the best ways to make money online (that is, it is one of the best ways to "live the dream" of making money from the comfort of your own home") is through the magic of affiliate marketing, but if you are wanting to make money through affiliate marketing, you will have to know a few specific things; if you are thinking of dabbling in affiliate marketing, keep these tips in mind, as they will help you on your way to achieving success in your efforts.

When chasing success in affiliate marketing, one mistake that a lot of people make is that they end up targeting a niche that has a lot of competition, and they are never able to make their online voice heard because of this; when you are selecting a niche, realize that the best thing for you to do is target a sub-niche that will present you with less competition you will have to deal with.

Another thing to realize is that you can pretty much find affiliate marketing opportunities for just about anything; a lot of people start from the affiliate marketing companies they know (such as Amazon, or Apple), and then try to figure out what products this makes available to them, but a much better approach is to decide what you want to focus on in your affiliate marketing efforts, and then to search for an affiliate program that will make this possible.

Finally, realize that search engine optimization will be a vital part of your eventual success in affiliate marketing, and even though you might not want to take all the necessary time to learn all the things you will need to know about SEO, you will need to have a bit of patience and do this before you can meet with success!

As you keep these tips in mind - and as you continue trying new things with affiliate marketing, experimenting to find what works for you - you will eventually be in a position where you are making money through affiliate marketing, and are maybe even making a living!

Writing Good Articles To Grow Your Website

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

One thing you may have come to understand is that writing articles - and submitting these articles to article sites - is an excellent way for you to create backlinks for your website, and for you to drive up direct traffic, but one thing you may still be trying to figure out is exactly what constitutes a "good" article.

Of course, the foundation of a good article should be good, competent writing, but while it is pretty much impossible to write a good article with bad writing, it is not at all impossible to write a bad article with good writing - and the content of the article itself will be your first defense against having a bad article: make sure the content relates to your site, and that it provides readers with valuable information.

In addition to covering a topic that relates to your site and doing so with good writing, you will also want to make sure the writing itself is conversational and engaging; try to make readers feel as though they are reading something written "to them" by someone they know, rather than making them feel as though they are reading some sort of business correspondence.

And one of the biggest keys to getting clicks on the links you include in the articles you write will be that you leave these articles open-ended; this can be a fine line to balance your writing along, as you will want to make your articles informative and worth reading, but will want to do so without giving so much away that your reader feels there is no need to click on the link you provide - so write with this goal in mind, and keep tabs on how many clicks you get on different articles, so you can determine which approaches are working and which can be discarded.

When you keep these tips in mind as you write your articles, it will be easy for you to start increasing your site's search engine ranking and traffic - all by writing about a topic that relates to your site, and that you probably enjoy writing about in the first place!

If you have a business, one thing that will be extremely important will be that you are able to get the most out of all the great benefits offered by the Internet; after all, the Internet can be a great way for you to connect with your current customers, and can be a great way for you to gain new customers without spending a dime on advertising, but if you are not taking the proper steps to get the most out of your online presence, you will fail to capitalize on all the benefits the Internet has to offer!

The first thing you will want to do in order to make the most out of the Internet for your business is make sure you have a website; this might seem like an elementary need if you already have a website for your business, but there are many small businesses out there wondering why they are not succeeding, and they have not even taken the time to build a website!

After you have built a website for your business, you will want to make sure you are not just blindly adding content to this site, but are instead taking the time to learn as much as you can about the principles of search engine optimization, and are using these principles in order to ensure that you are showing up highly in search engine searches - as this will go a long way in helping you to gain new customers through the Internet.

And finally, make sure you understand the fact that social media (that is, such tools as Twitter, facebook, and LinkedIn) will be hugely beneficial in allowing you to connect with your customers and your potential customers; create an active presence on these sites, and you will be able to enjoy all the benefits that come as a result!

The Seven Parts Of A Business Plan

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

If the time has come for you to write a business plan, you might be at a loss as to how you should proceed. Not only is a business plan important for a startup, or for a business that needs to procure a loan, but a business plan should be part of every business. A business plan can define your purpose and give your business direction, doing all of this in a tidy, organized document. Here follows the seven elements that your business plan will need.

1) Executive Summary: This will be the last part you write - it is basically a summary of everything you will say in the document - but it will come at the beginning.

2) Company Description: If you are a new business, this will contain your startup plans; if you have been around, this part will include your history up to this point.

3) Product or Service: You will use this section to not only describe your product or service, but to do so while keeping the focus on the customers themselves.

4) Market Analysis: This is hugely important, especially when you need a loan. In this section, you should prove your understanding of both the market and your customer's needs, as well as your plans to reach the customers.

5) Strategy and Implementation: It is absolutely vital that you avoid vagueness in this section. Talk about your company structure, and detail your company strategies.

6) Management Team: This section can be a great selling point, as you can delve into the backgrounds of all the key members of your team.

7) Financial Strategy: Provide detailed projections and analysis in this section; this section of your business plan is especially important if you are a startup company.

Whether you are an established business with your feet under you already or a startup trying to gain a foothold, a good business plan can be of great benefit to you and your future success. On the other hand, you can miss out on money and on a brighter future if your business plan is sloppy; don't make this mistake!

Making Customers Feel Welcome Without Making Them Feel Overwhelmed

Get Your Own Facebook Groups Poster Now!

Making customers feel welcome when they walk in your store is one thing that will be important if you have your own company, but another thing that is important for you to realize is that it is also possible to make customers feel suffocated and overwhelmed; in order to increase the success of your business, it will be important that you have an understanding of the difference between making your customers feel comfortable and making them feel like they just want you to leave them alone!

You should greet a customer the moment they enter the store, and then you should ask them if there is anything you can help them with; this is important, as a lot of people will greet a customer, wait for them to walk around for a bit, and then ask if they need help with anything - but when you ask as an addendum to the greeting, the customer will feel as though you are being helpful, without feeling as though you are being overbearing.

Another thing that tends to bother customers is a "hovering body"; you will want your customers to know that you are available to help them in any way they need and to answer any questions they have, but it is much better (and much more effective) to let them know you are ready to help by wearing a smile and remaining open and available with your body language than by sticking close to them and waiting for them to ask you a question.

And if the customer requests help from you, make sure you go over and above what is necessary in trying to help them, sticking with them as long as they need you - but not sticking with them any longer than they do!

Being helpful to your customers without making them feel like you are bothering them, or like you are trying to "sell them something," can be a fine line to walk, but as you keep these tips in mind, you will keep getting better at it - and eventually you will have no problem at all making your customers feel comfortable and right at home!
